2022 02 19 Hluhluwe Game Reserve Visit

We like to camp at Bahati. This is only 20 minutes drive from Hluhluwe Game Reserve. We decided to spend the morning in the game reserve. We entered at Memorial Gate. We took the turn off to Hluhluwe river. On this road we saw White-backed Vultures. The birds in general were scarce, but there is always a pleasant surprise. It is refreshing to stop at the picnic spot. We saw various bird species there. Then we took the same road back. We took the Hilltop turn and slowly travelled up the hills to Hilltop. We saw elephants, buffaloes, white rhinos and various buck species. Mammals are sometimes seen in abundance, but on other occasions, they are scarce. After a great morning, we departed back to Bahati.

Special birds seen: Village Indigo Bird, Little Bee-eater.

Bird Species: 23
