I am retired and a resident of Richards Bay since 1969. I have been doing birding for many years because of my father`s love of nature. I love nature, camp and spent a lot of time in Game reserves. I am a member of the Richards Bay birding club for may years. I contribute photos of birds, butterflies and dragonflies to this website. I have more than 700 bird species recorded.

I love nature since childhood and collected butterflies in high school. My studies included Botany and Zoology. I am staying 31 years in Richards Bay and love the biodiversity of Zululand. I am retired. My wife and myself are keen photographers and regularly visit the local Game Reserves. Alen introduced me to birding 5 years ago and I am now a keen birder. I submit data of Butterflies, Birds and Dragonflies to “Inaturalist” and “The Virtual Museum.” Inaturalist is amazing and any person enjoying nature and photography must join the group. Both groups are free, join and submit your nature data here. I am the author of this website. I have 427 bird species, 42 butterfly and 25 Dragonfly species recorded.

I am a big nature lover. I am retired. Started birding as a beginner in 2005. Learned more about birding when staring to submit to SA Bird Atlas project. Combined this with submitting photos to bio mapping projects I.e. “Inaturalist” and “DU Virtual Museum”. The initial main focus was on Butterflies and Dragonflies. I am a member of the Richards Bay birding club for may years. Currently I upload various species to both the sites listed above. I contribute photos of birds, butterflies and dragonflies to this website. I have 620 bird species, 431 butterfly and moth species and 123 Dragonfly species recorded.
